Teaching and ICT

In a year's time I would like to be using podcasts and blogs to engage my students. However, I do feel that nothing can replace the bond between student and teacher. Perhaps why Andrew Douche is so successful has more to do with his personality and empathy than to do with the technology. Nonetheless, I do think that we might be able to have an interesting blog or forum where the year 13 students can discuss issues in Othello or Schindler's list etc. I can see this working. Another thing that should work well is if we can get our exchange student Lucile to set up a forum or blog. This would be good for all the French students because they could ask her questions especially about things they find difficult to translate. However, this might also cause some laziness where she just becomes an online dictionary. But still, it would be very useful. The other thing I can see us doing in French is to have various lessons such as pronouns and verb conjugations if we flipvideoed it and posted it.
